I’m 16 years old and from Nelson. I grew up doing heaps of mountain biking with my Dad and cousins from when I was about 4, and began racing cross-country at around 11. From there I found my way to the local road club and then onto the velodrome. I’ve now been doing track for just over a year and road for about 4 years, while putting my mountain biking on the back burner but still doing the occasional ride on the dirt.
I want to race for BMWC because coming from Nelson I don’t have any other girls to ride with, so this is an awesome opportunity to get some teammates and experience racing with the team environment.
My ultimate goal is for my cycling to take me to the Netherlands. I hope to move there sometime in 2023.
A rider that inspires me is Evie Richards because she’s always so positive and balances her cycling with staying healthy and happy.
So far my top results are this year’s nationals across various disciplines, 1st U17 Road Race, 2nd U17 XCO Mountain Biking, 3rd U17 Secondary Schools Track Nationals. Another result I’m proud of is becoming a 2x Junior Woman Karapoti Champion and I hope to one day set a new record!
