Lola Bryson-Boe

Kia Ora, my name is Lola, I am 17 years old and a student at Christchurch Girls’ High School.

I grew up skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and loving all kinds of outdoor activities which lead me to triathlon.

When I was 14 I was selected into the Canterbury Triathlon Academy and started competitively training and racing. With cycling being my strongest discipline in triathlon, I began to explore some events that were on offer and discovered the cycling community. Late in 2022 I decided to make my entire focus on cycling, and I am so happy with that decision.

I am super excited to race with Black Magic again this year so I can further my passion for cycling with the great opportunities they offer. I love the environment that has been built in our team, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to experience the sport.

My goal has been to travel the world by cycling, and I am so proud to be able to begin this dream with my teammates. I am really excited about what BMWC has to offer for my 2023 season and I feel privileged to have the support and be part of continuing to make these huge movements for women’s cycling in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

My long-term dream is to ride for women’s world tour teams like Canyon SRAM, SD Worx, and Trek Segafredo. Many of the riders in these teams have inspired me and I would love to follow in their footsteps.

A rider that has personally inspired me is Demi Vollering, I love her style of riding with aggression and how incredible she is on climbs but still has the power on sprints. I admire her qualities and aspire to follow in her footsteps.
