Ruby Spring

I’m Ruby Spring from Auckland.  I have loved sports ever since I was very young.  I started triathlon in year 7 at Saint Kentigern College but quickly realised the swimming and running weren’t for me, however I loved the cycling aspect. I am now in my final year of high school and have a very exciting year ahead of me.

When joining BMW, I wanted to be apart of a group which shared the same interests as me. I saw it as an opportunity to learn and develop as a rider, along side other riders who were keen to improve.

In terms of the future, I wish to race and develop new skills overseas with the team.  I want to develop team skills and strategies while also better understanding myself as a rider and my strengths/weaknesses.

Some of my best results for schools racing would include Nationals – where I won both the Road Race and Criterium, as well as getting 2nd in the TTT.  3rd at Road nationals was also a very good achievement.

With being given these exciting opportunities to race overseas this year, I want to use them to learn and develop as a rider. As well as this, seeing and visiting amazing places around the world on my bike is something I never thought I would achieve.
