I began riding for the Black Magic Women’s Team back in 2015 (pretty cool huh) in the initial launch of the team and thoroughly enjoyed getting to ride alongside such an enthusiastic bunch of girls. It was here I got to learn all about team riding and tactics, important skills on and off the bike and getting to push myself in the female peloton.
In 2016, I began my coaching career at Waikato Diocesan, coaching in their Girls Programme and really loved getting to help young girls in the sport. After a couple of years I moved to Auckland and continued my passion for coaching, where I took up the role as the Women’s coach at Saint Kentigern College and have been there since and currently pursuing my 5th year in the Schools Programme. I was also involved as Intern coach for the Auckland Hub Cycling Programme, where I was assisting in road and track programmes for our young aspiring Olympians. Over Summer, I enjoy coaching with the Auckland Track Team and providing Schools sessions through Auckland Schools and getting newbies on the boards.
At the end of 2022, I jumped on board with Black Magic as one of their support staff and coaches and am very fortunate for this opportunity. I am super excited for the year ahead and to be kicking off our Oceania and Europe campaign. The girls have all been training super hard and there is a lot of people behind the scenes making this happen which I am very grateful for. Lets go girls!
