Kim Cadzow

I am 19 year old cyclist from Wanaka. I’m from a long distance triathlon background. I’ve been doing all kinds of sport from a young age including swimming and mountain. I have recently switched from triathlon to biking and am loving the new experience.

I want to race for BMWC because we have such a great team of girls who are highly motivated. I have always loved the idea of being in a team and BMWC is great because I know all the girls train hard, race hard and motivate each other. We also have a number of kiwi business’s backing us which is awesome to be supported.

While racing for BMWC I want the team to race in some high level events and get some great results. I know BMWC will help me to learn a number of skills in order to get to a better level. Not only do I want us to achieve podiums in the racing field I want to help pave the way for young girls in road cycling NZ. Being so little female teams in New Zealand I want to help create that pathway to elite cycling for teenage girls in NZ.

My goal as a rider is to be able to and compete in Europe with the best of the best in events like the Giro Rosa, La course and Roubaix Femmes. I also want to be apart of Women’s cycling gaining the same exposure and funding as men’s cycling. One of my ultimate goals is to ride with some of the women who inspired me to start cycling.

One rider who inspires me is Marianne Vos, she has competed in pretty much every cycling event know such as track, MTB, cyclo-cross and road racing becoming a world champion at 19 she’s just an incredible athlete . She’s achieved pretty much any person can ever dream of.

After switching to road only recently I don’t have a lot of racing under my belt so my results are 3rd at NZ age groups 2021 road race and time trial.
