I live in Wanaka and have just started year 11 NCEA. I started competing in triathlons when I was 13 but quickly turned my focus to my strength, road biking. I enjoy pushing myself to improve my cycling even if that means climbing that extra hill in my training. I am really excited about being part of BMWC to ride with other women passionate and committed to cycling and to work together to be the best we can be.
I really thrive on the structure that training and racing provide me and have grown a strong interest in nutrition and how that affects my performance. I also enjoy the mechanical side of biking and I am pretty proud that I have built my own bike that I currently race.
My best result so far was winning the Sprint Ace jersey at the 2020 National Road Series. I am now working on all the hills around home to be a great all round road cyclist.
Its a very exciting time for women’s cycling and it is my dream to ride for teams like Trek Segafredo, Canyon SRAM and SD Works who have made such a significant commitment to women’s cycling. Seeing other New Zealand female cyclists like Mikayla Harvey and Niamh Fisher-Black riding at this level gives me so much confidence that with a lot of hard work I can do it to.
