I am quite new to cycling!
I grew up in Timaru and was a competitive inline speed skater from the age of six. This sport was full of opportunity for me and I was fortunate enough to travel the world and gather a number of decent results. Unfortunately, when Covid hit, the opportunities for skating all disappeared. During the Covid-period, I suffered a few bad injuries and couldn’t skate at all. I began cycling as cross training and ended up falling in love with the sport.
I started to train properly on the bike mid-2021, however I took a six month break at the start of 2022 to complete my NZ Army Basic Training (I am a part of the Reserve Force now). I returned to the bike mid-2022 and set to work right away!
Not long after my return to cycling, I was privileged to become a part of Black Magic. Being a part of this team helped me to develop myself as a rider very quickly, and after being with the team for just a few months, I managed to secure a contract with a Women’s UCI Continental Team in Europe.
The environment and support that Black Magic provides female kiwi cyclists is incredible and it has been an honour to race for the team.
My goal is to make it to the Women’s World Tour where I hope to compete in some iconic races such as Le Tour de Femmes avec Zwift and to be able to do what I love (ride my bike) every single day.
